The Author's Chair celebration was one of several District 1 events that showcased the talents, creative and critical thinking, and persistence of our students. On Saturday, February 4th, our students in grades 2-5 teamed up to design and construct paper roller coasters and then test their efficiency at P.S. 15's Make-A-Thon. Looking ahead to the D1 Arts Festival at Abrons Arts Center on June 15-18, we'll enjoy powerful student work and performances in dance, music, theater, and visual arts. For sure, we'll hear more applause, see more proud faces, and we'll cherish the meaningful learning happening every day in District 1 schools. Please join in the fun and celebrate with us!
Dear District 1 Community,
Heading into holidays and a vacation break is a time to rejuvenate and restore hope. It's also a time to re-focus on key priorities to make sure our efforts are propelling us forward.
Our District Comprehensive Educational Plan (DCEP) set these goals for 2016-17:
In the coming weeks, I look forward to highlighting progress on these goals and adjustments, as necessary.
Best wishes to all for abundant health, joy and learning in the New Year,
